Compressible Fluid Strut

Fluid Strut

Horstman Compressible Fluid Struts are designed for use on wheeled and tracked vehicles.  This unit combines both spring and damping into a lightweight, compact design, that is ideally suited for applications where other suspension solutions can't measure up.  For wheeled vehicles, the Compressible Fluid Strut units can be used on trailing arm, leading arm, McPherson and wishbone arrangements. On tracked vehicles the arrangement is typically trailing arm but can also be used in a bogie arrangement.

The Horstman Compressible Fluid Struts are ideally suited to upgrade vehicles originally designed with shock absorbers to provide a bolt on suspension upgrade alongside a traditional spring.  They can also be used to provide as a stand-alone suspension solution that can outperform traditional spring and damper arrangements. Units can be supplied with a variety of end fixings depending on the suspension geometry, as well as an option Ride Height Control System to expand mission capability. Vehicle weights from 4 tons 40 tons.
